This week I will talk about my understanding of interviews based on what I learned in class. I will also share the progress of my project’s interview with Plan A.

An interview is essentially a structured conversation in which one participant asks questions and others provide answers. An interview technique is a skill or action that allows a person to be more effective throughout the interview process for a new position. In interview etiquette, we should avoid going to an interview unprepared and should arrive on time. Interview skills should be professional and have good listening and questioning skills. These skills are all very useful in an interview.

For my new progress of the project 1, I prepared and created some interview questions about Plan A in advance and made a record of the interview content. These questions are mainly to investigate the working environment, atmosphere and process of the interviewee, and to understand the meaning, feelings and satisfaction of this career journey. In addition, open questions are used to gain more insight into the practices and expectations of the industry.

The interview took the form of a webinar and was conducted with self-employed people in a Chinese landscape company who were given permission to understand their work processes and career expectations and visions. The interview process is online, the information is delivered via email, and the interviewees’ answers are recorded in my notes.

Next week, I will start to think ideas and 3 year plan about Plan B for my project 1 report. See next week!
